Common mistakes controlled by the Border Guard
- Working under conditions other than those specified in the permit (e.g., fewer working hours or a different position).
- Errors in ZUS (social security) registrations — mismatched dates with the actual start of work.
- Lack of valid residence documents in personal files (passport, residence card, visa).
Border Guard vs PIP Inspection
Remember that when it comes to foreigners, these two agencies cooperate. The Border Guard checks the legality of stay and work, while PIP checks employment conditions and OHS. An error detected by one service almost always results in notifying the other.
How to protect yourself?
As part of the training provided by Julia Krajewska, we teach HR managers exactly how to perform "self-control". Each foreigner's personnel file should undergo verification at least once a quarter. Proper legalization is an ongoing process, not a one-time event.
